What to Watch for During Super Bowl XLIX

Only a few days remain until Super Bowl XLIX. Two teams remain. There is only one game. And for the only time in the season, fantasy football is such a small piece of the puzzle. Some of you might be in a playoff-specific fantasy formatted competition, but for the most part, we put away our fantasy football spreadsheets and either won the big prize or started scheming for next year’s revenge. For now, watch for the Seahawks and Patriots momentum that they may bring into the 2015 season, watch for bragging rights if you picked the right team or prop bets, and watch for fun. Russell Wilson Redemption Russell Wilson had one of the worst games of his career in the NFC Championship game two weeks ago against the Green Bay Packers… until he rocked it out at the end of the game. Wilson is one of, if not the best read-option quarterback in the league. If he was a Running Back, he would have tied with C.J. Anderson for the 16th most rushing yards this season (849) and tied with five other backs for 17th in rushing touchdowns (6). He would have been a top-20 fantasy option. That is insane. And he somehow never gets hit. Containing Russell Wilson will be key for a New England victory, but that’s easier said than done. Not only can Wilson get yards with his feet, he is also the most accurate on-the-move passer in the NFL. New England is a man-based defense and not their best against mobile Quarterbacks. They’ll try to set the edge and keep Wilson in the pocket...

Baltimore Ravens Fantasy Football Check In

There has been a lot of cameras on the Ravens this offseason for all the wrong reasons. Now that Ray Rice has received his so-called punishment for hitting his now wife, the team can get back to just focusing on football. Find out whether the Ravens should be on your fantasy football radar with Baltimore Ravens Fantasy Football Check In.   Joe Flacco - Quarterback Last year’s stats: Flacco played all 16 games last year, which he has done since entering the NFL in 2008. He threw for 3,912 yards, 19 TDs, and 22 INTs. He also ran for 131 yards, 1 rushing TD and 2 FUMs.   Things to like: Gary Kubiak joining the Ravens should help Flacco be more successful. He is focusing on keeping Flacco upright since he was sacked 48 times last year and he threw twice as many INTs in 2013 then he did the year he won a Superbowl. The pressure of winning two Superbowls back to back is now long gone and now he can just focus on winning.   Reasons to pause: Unless you are in a very deep league or you can use a QB in a flex spot you will not be drafting him. Her Fantasy Football has him ranked 23rd and I think that is about right.   Ray Rice - Running Back Last year’s stats: Rice played in15 games. He only had 660 yards rushing, 4 TDS, and 2 FUMs. He also caught 58 balls for 321 yards and 0 TDs.   Things to like: Rice has consistently been a top ten pick throughout his career. Coming off the worst year...

Denver Broncos Get Flacco Right In Their Face

Had to mention the drama going on in the Mile High City. Why would there be a huge poster of Joe Flacco hanging on Sports Authority Field? I am sorry you can’t have the opener in your stadium but don’t make the Broncos fans pay for it. I have never wanted Flacco taken down that bad before. Twitter Reacts to Flacco Poster in DENHow would you feel as a fan if your team was beaten in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs by the eventual Super Bowl champions, and for the opening game of the next season, your stadium actually had the audacity to hang the Super Bowl MVP’s image on your stadium? via...

28 arrests since Super Bowl

There has been 28 NFL players arrested since the Super Bowl on February 3, 2013. Some of them arrested more then once, Titus Young anyone? What is going on? Charges are ranging from DUIs and public intoxication to child abuse, assault and murder. The same day Hernandez was arrested for murder, Ausar Walcott from the Cleveland Browns was arrested for attempted murder after punching a guy outside of a club. He, like Hernandez, was dropped by their teams immediately. I have come to the conclusion that NFL players should never drink, smoke pot, drive, go to the club, or have a girlfriend or wife. I wonder how many arrests there will be until September...
