Both Defenses are a mystery this week. I wouldn’t play either defense. Julius Thomas, TE for the Broncos, was arrested for an outstanding traffic ticket. No reports yet if his play tonight will be effected. Those Broncos need to stay out of trouble.

On Saturday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed Kicker Lawrence Tynes on non-football injury reserve due to the fact that Tynes is suffering from a nasty MRSA infection and will be unable to play for some time.  The Bucs agreed to pay Tynes the entirety of this contract, as well.

As a regular gal, this sounded great.  It felt like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were admitting to being accountable for the terrible MRSA outbreak in their facilities.  But, I guess it was the exact opposite.

By not putting Tynes on the regular Injured Reserve, Tynes will be denied benefits including his salary as long as he stays on the team, an accrued season, full benefits and another season towards his pension.

In an exclusive interview with FOX Sports on Saturday, Tynes got a lot off his chest, and I have to agree with him.  He said, “If I drop a 45-pound plate on my foot while lifting weights in the weight room a the facility, it’s IR.  So I just don’t understand how my situation is any different.  I went to work, I kicked, I practiced, I cold-tubbed, I hot-tubbed, I showered for all those days there.  I come up with MRSA and it’s a non-football injury?  They’re basically trying to exonerate themselves of this and I’m not going to allow it to happen.”

So, the veteran Kicker filed a grievance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the backing of the NFL Players Association.  As far as I can tell, the Bucs knew about the outbreak in their facilities, they had all of the grounds fumigated, so I’m not sure how they can even attempt to not take responsibility for Tynes’ MRSA infection.  The Buccaneers Guard, Carl Nicks, also got the infection.  It seems pretty obvious to me.

Lawrence Tynes was informed Saturday he’ll be placed on the non-football-injury list by the Bucs, which is their way of saying he has no proof the MRSA infection that began in his foot was contracted at their facility.

The San Francisco 49ers announced today that Eric Wright, former Cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, failed his physical, therefore voiding the trade.  When asked for details, Jim Harbaugh simply said, “The information is he didn’t pass his physical, he’s not on the team.”

When you hear that someone failed a physical, you assume they weren’t fast enough or maybe their blood pressure was too high.  And that may be the case.  However, a team can fail you on a physical for whatever reason they want.

Many are suggesting that he was failed due to his newest DUI charge that came in Los Angeles on July 12.  There are conflicting reports as to whether or not the 49ers knew of the arrest and pending charges prior to accepting the trade.  The 49ers were going to get Wright, a former second-round draft pick, for a conditional draft pick in 2014.

Sadly, 2012 was a busy year for Eric Wright.  He was charged with a felony DUI (which was later dropped), played through an Achilles tendon injury and he was suspended for four games by the NFL for violating their performance-enhancing drug policy.  Prior to 2012, Wright signed a five-year contract worth $37.5 million, but the language within that contract allowed the Bucs to void his remaining guaranteed money if he failed a drug test.  They did just that.

And to be frank, the trade was odd from the get go.  Coach Jim Harbaugh has been very vocal about his no-tolerance stance on bad player behavior, especially when it concerns performance-enhancing drugs.  Just in June, when asked about the seemingly large amount of Seattle Seahawks testing positive for banned substances, he said the following:

You don’t know what it is. Even when people say what it is, you don’t know that that’s what it is. I’ve heard this thrown out or that, but that’s usually the agent or the players themselves saying it’s, for example, Adderall. But the NFL doesn’t release what it actually is, so you have no idea.  You’re taking somebody at their word that I don’t know if you can take them at their word, understanding the circumstances.

Once the physical was failed and the trade voided, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released Eric Wright.  He’s now an unrestricted free agent.

In general, I’ve tried to ignore any and all media attention focused on the NY Jets.  I live in New York, and live with a Jets fan, so I’m already overwhelmed with the chit-chat about a team that consists of zero fantasy starters.

But you know what, you got me!  This story is fun!

So, who is Alana Kari?  Deadspin described her as “some kind of SoCal-based socialite.”  Supposedly, she also tweeted pictures of the two taking part in a California wine tasting, a nice dinner, a limo ride… you know, all the “pre-pulling your pants down on camera” formalities.  Then the classy duo attending a party of some sort where Mark could be his true self.  He put on that hideous headband, danced around, pulled down his pants exposing what I must admit is a really lovely buttocks, one of the ladies spanked him, he was smoking something…

Yeah, I found it on YouTube.  Watch it while you can because only thesportsbastards seems to still have it.  This is the internet, and nothing can really get erased, but Alana did take down the Vine videos once it started to get national attention (what did you think would happen?) and if you go to the sites who reported the incident you get this message, “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by c/o Lavely & Singer PC.”

Lavely & Singer are basically lawyers to the stars.  I have no desire to get sued for a Mark Sanchez butt video.  The law firm made the classy videos virtually impossible to find.  Lucky for Mark.

Her Fantasy Football (well, two of us) went to the Jets Mini Camp a couple of weeks ago.  We thought it would be fun to see what goes on.  I’ll write more about that later, but I must tell you, Mark Sanchez is more attractive in person.  He’s really beautiful.  He’s also very nice to fans, patient, polite, charming, you name it.  In fact, I was so hypnotized by his loveliness I almost started to root for him, even after witnessing, in person, his over-throwing Stephen Hill in the end zone.  I thought maybe he could work on it, maybe this year could be different.

Luckily for me, Mark’s bare bottom was the perfect reminder of why Mark is on the chopping block… and it does have to do with a butt.
