Chris Johnson and Devin Hester Raced a Cheetah… For Real

Yep, Tennessee Titan Chris Johnson and Chicago Bear Devin Hester took to the National Geographic Channel in honor of “Big Cat Week” and raced a straight up cheetah.

No word as to who won the race, but you’ll be able to check it out in November when the segment airs on a “Nat Geo Wild” special in November.

Personally, I wish the NFL did more of these one-off crazy showings. It’s certainly more exciting than the Pro Bowl.

Seriously, I would love to see who could bench press the most, and maybe we can test that against a polar bear. You think you’re so tough, get into a big pool with a rhinoceros and prove it. Tell that gigantic animal who’s boss! I’d rather see quarterbacks attempt to catch flies with chopsticks than sit through another piss poor exhibition of “pro” talent. Think about it, Goodell. We’re all counting on you.

How to Evaluate Carson Palmer’s Fantasy Value?

Ron Jaworski, ESPN contributor, is in the midst of releasing his top 32 QBs for the upcoming season. He ranked Carson Palmer as the 23rd best QB in the league, but Jaws really has nothing but good things to say about Palmer. Jess Root, from revengeofthebirds.com (which is a really fun site) goes into more detail in the article below.

What does this mean to fantasy ladies? This is a classic sleeper scenario. Carson Palmer actually has pretty decent stats considering he’s played on terrible teams. He goes to Arizona to meet up with Larry Fitzgerald, one of the greatest WRs, and magic could happen. COULD… This is a case for “women’s intuition.”

My take: Palmer will not start the season as a fantasy starter. He could, however, improve throughout the season. Fitzgerald is an instant improvement, but that O-Line was TERRIBLE last year. None of the team’s QBs could stay upright. It was downright terrifying to watch. Hopefully, the team made improvements on the line and Carson Palmer fantasy value will go up and up, allowing him to serve as a great fill in when your starter is out for a Bye Week. Things to watch.

Possible Sleeper – WR Brian Quick – St. Louis Rams

According to NFL and Rams Insider Tony Softli of 101 ESPN St. Louis, the second year WR, Brian Quick, has been “putting on a show” and on Friday alone, Quick caught “17 to 18 passes all over the field.” And although Tavon Austin and Chris Givens will play large roles in the receiving corps, the role of “go-to guy” is still wide open. Last year, Quick came into the NFL from Appalachian State with a tremendous amount of talent. But the transition was a difficult one, leading to a less than impressive rookie stat line. Could this be the year that it all clicks and Sam Bradford finally has a receiver who can catch to ball AND stay healthy?

I’m an Amendola fan, but his injuries attributed to the up and down nature of the St. Louis Rams offense. Bradford needs a “go-to guy.” Is it Quick?

Yo! I would normally say, “Danny Woodhead a Charger? Seems nice, but who cares?” We’ll, if you saw Ryan Matthews bite the dust last year, you care. I’m not going to spend even a fourth round pick on him, but I’m calling Woodhead the early sleeper of the season. The Chargers have some serious RB issues and this guy is scrappy, if nothing else. Things to watch…

And who can forget when that guy sold jerseys.
