Detroit Lions 11-5

Welcome to NFC North Week and the Detroit Lions 2014 Fantasy Highs and Lows! Each week we will go division by division breaking down each team.

The Lions ended up in the playoffs but they weren’t as fantasy player packed as they have been in the past. There were a lot of ups and downs with Golden Tate, Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Joique Bell and the Detroit Lions’ Defense so let’s talk about the absolutely high and lowest of lows.

Highs:

My high was the fact that we didn’t have to suffer through a running back by committee situation all season long. Joique Bell was the 14th highest scoring back on the season. He had his share of low scoring games, but for the most part he was very good for you and you didn’t have to have that awful debate in your head whether it would be Bell’s week or Bush’s week. Be thankful for that as we don’t know what will be in store for the Lion’s backfield next season.

Lows:

Low, Matthew Stafford, for sure. Stafford is supposed to be elite. I would not call being the 15th highest scoring QB on the season elite even if his team did go to the playoffs. Granted Megatron was hurt for a while, but you know what…you have to find other weapons…that’s what good teams and good quarterbacks do. Plain and simple.
