Week 9 Quarterback Waiver Wire Must Adds

Pick these guys up! We partnered with RotoBaller to give you accurate and timely waiver wire adds. In turn, they post our podcast to their site (which is centered around setting your weekly lineups). Enjoy! This article originally appeared on RotoBaller.   Week 8 was another perfect week, kinda. Marcus Mariota obviously did not start so he was thrown out. Otherwise it was a 2/2 day. Alex Smith only threw for 145 yards but he had two passing touchdowns and 78 rush yards and another score on the ground. That resulted in a huge fantasy day: Smith’s best yet! Meanwhile Brian Hoyer wasn’t amazing, but he did have 17 fantasy points which is a success if you were to the point of starting him. For Week 9, Zach is probably shying away from Derek Carr (46% owned) once again. The Steelers are a good defense. The Jets were too but still play it safe here. Even if you don’t start Carr this week, he needs to be owned and he is out there in a lot of leagues. I’d also like to throw out Marcus Mariota’s name again. He’s out there in plenty of leagues and gets the Saints this week. The same Saints that just allowed Eli Manning to throw six touchdowns. Mariota just misses this list but he’s definitely a good add. For this article, I’d like to look at two QBs owned in 50% or less of Fleaflicker leagues and another QB owned in 25% or less to account for the QB scarcity in 2QB leagues. There are definitely some good QBs readily available if you...

Below are some waiver wire pickups and sleepers for Week 8 who can have a potential impact for your teams. My (Edward Gorelik) piece won’t cover all waiver wire adds and targets each week, as there are just too many with all the league types out there, but I’ll be highlighting and prioritize the biggest impact players. Additionally, be sure to check out many more great RotoBaller articles and waiver wire analysis pieces at each position throughout the week, including risers/fallers, deeper league sleepers, rankings and more.   Week 8 Quarterback Waiver Wire Pickups Jay Cutler (QB, CHI) 39% Owned on Fleaflicker Jay Cutler is returning from a bye-week, just in time to cover yours. Cutler hasn’t been killing it this year but has been able to put together some high end QB2 performances since returning from injury. This week he’ll face the Vikings defense, one that’s been gashed by big, strong #1 WRs all year long. Alshon Jeffery is looking at a big plus matchup and that means his quarterback is looking at one too. If injuries or byes have you in need- Cutler is still one of those guys who could put up a huge game when things go right. Other Quarterback Options:  OAK QB Derek Carr - 42% owned - Criminally under-owned, Carr’s going to have a rematch against his first ever opponent, the New York Jets. It’s a suffocating defense that’s prone to...

Back by popular demand in 2015… RotoBaller has brought back for the NFL season our Ultimate 2015 Fantasy Football Sleepers & Waiver Wire Pickups List.  Our team of NFL enthusiasts and fantasy football analysts follow football all day, during the offseason and especially during the NFL season. We recommend NFL players for you to consider as 2015 draft sleepers, ADP values, or hot pickups off the waiver wire once the season starts – every single day of the fantasy football preseason and season. Drafting the right undervalued player or adding sleepers off the waiver wire can be a huge difference maker in fantasy leagues. Last year players like C.J. Anderson went undrafted in many leagues, and players like that helped win a ton of fantasy championships. What’s better than snagging that big time sleeper hot player off the waiver wire before your league does? Well, not much really.  Each day we will update this list, so be sure to check back to see who we’ve added and read the latest analysis about each player. If you aren’t sure who to drop, we’ll help you decide - just ask us in our chat room. QB Alex Smith, WR Jeremy Maclin Show Signs Of Improved Pass Attack For KC Chiefs

Well, they looked fairly sharp the other night, but can WR Jeremy Maclin help stretch the skill set of his QB, Alex Smith, by encouraging him to stretch the field a little more?  There’s not much that fantasy owners can look to in Smith but Maclin still may be able to put some decent fantasy numbers this year.  It’s a question of how Andy Reid intends to use him and then if Smith can actually make that happen.  But isn’t it great to actually hear the words “receiving touchdown” mentioned in the same sentence as the Kansas City Chiefs again?  We’ll bet Jamaal Charles likes the sound of that. RB Frank Gore Has Bromance Level Of Adoration For Colts’ QB Andrew Luck

Confidence is running high in Indy.  RB Frank Gore, new to the Colts this year, is ready to put his quarterback on a god-like pedestal. The enthusiasm is great to see for fantasy owners as it suggests that there is a good chemistry coming together on this Colts team.  RB Frank Gore still has plenty in the tank and you can expect to see him ground and pound his way into the post-season with Luck.  And with the pass-attack-that-could-be (Johnson, Hilton), things are looking good in Indianapolis. QB Andy Dalton Leaves Game As A Precautionary Measure

QB Andy Dalton may have dodged a bullet.  On a dive into the end zone for a touchdown, Dalton took a couple hard hits as the Cincinnati Bengals capitalized on their 16-play drive.  But apparently the injury as nothing serious and Coach Marvin Lewis said that taking Dalton out of the game was just “precautionary.” But with Marvin Jones back in action, it would have been nice to see Andy have a little more time on the field to show us how the chemistry is coming together.  If things gel, the Bengals could have a powerhouse offense both in the sky and on the ground.   Link to...
