Jacksonville Jaguars 2014 Fantasy Highs and Lows

Jacksonville Jaguars 3-13 Welcome to AFC South Week and the Jacksonville Jaguars 2014 Fantasy Highs and Lows! Each week we will go division by division breaking down each team. The Jaguars had a rough season, to be sure, but there were some highlights and certainly reasons to be optimistic moving forward into 2015. The first bit of good news is that the Jaguars kept their head coach and didn’t have to go into the off season fighting for a leader. The second is that they have some young, talented players that should serve as a nice foundation moving forward. Highs: Young Talent Frankly, this team has a TON of young talent that needs to be developed. Remember that four game stretch of double-digit fantasy gold for Denard Robinson? From Week 2 until his injury, Allen Robinson never caught less than four passes in a game. The stats didn’t tell the whole story, but Marqise Lee showed in his last prime time game versus the Tennessee Titans that he is the real deal. And even Mr. Interception, Blake Bortles, showed improvement and an eagerness to learn. Jacksonville is hiring former Raiders offensive coordinator, Greg Olson, to turn the offense around with the hope that he can develop Blake Bortles. They also hired former Bills head coach, Doug Marrone, to be the offensive line coach and assistant head coach. Bortles was sacked a league high 55 times (and he only started 13 games). Defense The defense is plucky and I like that. They started off terribly by allowing 11 touchdown passes in their first four games. But then they improved and only...

Cleveland Browns 2014 Fantasy Highs and Lows

Cleveland Browns 7-9 Welcome to AFC North Week and the Cleveland Browns 2014 Fantasy Highs and Lows! Each week we will go division by division breaking down each team. This year was a roller coaster of emotions. The Cleveland Browns offered an exorbitant amount of drama and yet a modest amount of fantasy points. Hopefully next year we will say the opposite.  Highs: Head Coach – Mike Pettine This guy doesn’t even have a remote chance of winning NFL Coach of the Year, but I wanted to give him some serious respect. This guy came to an organization that just fired a coach after only one year with the team. Management decides to draft the most controversial Quarterback in the draft, Johnny Manziel. At the beginning of training camp it is clear to Pettine that Manziel is not ready to play, and even though the media and surely the management wanted otherwise, Pettine announced that Brian Hoyer was his man and he stuck with him until they were out of playoff contention. Their top producing offensive weapon, Josh Gordon, gets suspended for the whole season, which later gets reduced to 10 games. Their second best weapon, Jordan Cameron, struggled with concussions again all season long, along with a nagging shoulder injury. He technically played in 10 games, but Cameron was limited in a majority of his showings. Not to mention the biggest blow to his season long plans, the loss of Pro Bowl Center, Alex Mack. All in all, the Browns were not good, but they were not terrible. They play in a tough division (literally, everyone else in...

Week 17 Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Forecast

Welcome to Week 17. This week we decided to mix it up a little and declare our holiday wishes for each of these teams that we got to know over the course of the 2014 season. Hopefully you enjoy the unique Week 17 Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Forecast. St. Louis Rams 6-9 at Seattle Seahawks 11-4 St. Louis is tied for giving up the 11th fewest points to QBs the 7th fewest points to RBs the 8th most points to WRs the 2nd fewest points to TEs the 3rd most points to DEFs My Holiday Wishes: I hope Russell Wilson doesn’t implode when the Seattle Seahawks decide to let Marshawn Lynch go. Lynch rushed for 1,246 yards and 12 touchdowns. BUT, Wilson rushed for 842 yards and 6 touchdowns. To give you an idea of how crazy that is, only 14 Running Backs in the league had more rushing yards and/or rushing touchdowns through Week 16 than Russell Wilson. Also, in standard scoring, Wilson scored 319.34 fantasy points. Marshawn Lynch scored 251.70 points. The next highest player? Doug Baldwin with 96.20 fantasy points. Literally, Wilson and Lynch were everything for this team. I’m worried. So I’m giving coal to the Seattle Seahawks organization for not recognizing...

Week 17 Green Bay Packers Fantasy Forecast

Welcome to Week 17. This week we decided to mix it up a little and declare our holiday wishes for each of these teams that we got to know over the course of the 2014 season. Hopefully you enjoy the unique Week 17 Green Bay Packers Fantasy Forecast. Detroit Lions 11-4 at Green Bay Packers 11-4 Detroit gives up the 3rd fewest fantasy points to QBs tied for 3rd fewest points to RBs the 8th fewest points to WRs the 17th most points to TEs tied for the 16th most points to DEFs My Holiday Wishes: That Aaron Rodgers doesn’t poop out in the 2015 fantasy championship run… Eh, we can’t be mad, he was awesome the majority of the year. Through Week 16 he’s 6th in passing yards (4,155), 3rd in touchdowns (36) and 7th in rushing yards (255). I bet that surprises you. This week he plays Detroit. If Jimmy Clausen can do something against the Lions, Aaron Rodgers should be fine. Hopefully Eddie Lacy can keep the “power back” tradition alive and well. He has the 7th most rushing yards (1039) and tied for 3rd most rushing touchdowns (9) in the league. I wish for Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb to both have 1,000+ yard and 10+ touchdown seasons again in 2015. I’m wishing...

Week 17 San Francisco 49ers Fantasy Forecast

Welcome to Week 17. This week we decided to mix it up a little and declare our holiday wishes for each of these teams that we got to know over the course of the 2014 season. Hopefully you enjoy the unique Week 17 San Francisco 49ers Fantasy Forecast. Arizona Cardinals 11-4 at San Francisco 49ers 7-8 Arizona gives up the 15th most points to QBs the 5th fewest points to RBs the 18th most points to WRs the 4th most points to TEs the 19th most points to DEFs My Holiday Wishes: I hope Jim Harbaugh’s khaki’s have flannel lining for those Michigan games. Wishing that the 49ers would just run Frank Gore BECAUSE THAT GIVES YOU THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN went unanswered the majority of the season. But last week versus San Diego Gore got to show us what we’ve been missing. He carried the ball 26 times for 158 yards and a touchdown. But 129 of those yards were in the 1st half – they went away from him when they were winning! UGH! I do sincerely hope that Kaepernick gets it together in the off-season, but I am not banking on it. He threw 17 touchdowns to 10 interceptions through Week 16. Only 1 rushing touchdown. He also lost 5 fumbles on the season. Due to Kaepernick’s performance, the rest of the team went off the fantasy radar, even in great match ups. This week they face Arizona, a tough defense, so we can’t encourage you to play anyone. We wish to be able to tell you something different next...

Week 17 Chicago Bears Fantasy Forecast

Welcome to Week 17. This week we decided to mix it up a little and declare our holiday wishes for each of these teams that we got to know over the course of the 2014 season. Hopefully you enjoy the unique Week 17 Chicago Bears Fantasy Forecast. Chicago Bears 5-10 at Minnesota Vikings 6-9 Minnesota gives up the 13th fewest points to QBs the 6th most points to RBs tied for the 16th most points to WRs tied for the 9th fewest points to TEs the 11th most points to DEFs My Holiday Wishes: Where do I start with this team? I hope Matt Forte is your #1 fantasy draft pick in 2015. He deserves it. Last week he went up against the leagues #2 defense with a quarterback that hasn’t played football in 4 years. He rushed 19 times for 55 yards and caught 6 passes and scored a touchdown. He has 987 rushing yards and 785 receiving yards on the season. Gold. I hope Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall come back with the same great hands that made them two of the most sought after receivers in the league. I hope Martellus Bennett continues to be a top-10 Tight End. Up until Week 16 he’s caught 82 passes for 857 yards and 6 touchdowns. Coal is everywhere you look when you attempt to asses the Quarterback, Defense and coaching situations. The coal is so black it’s borderline...
