RB T.J. Yeldon practicing, but in a red, non-contact jersey

Great! Weldon sat out the first preseason game due to a finger injury, but the team indicated that the injury was minor. It’s understood that the team wants to protect him because they consider him the No. 1 guy. We still need to see how Yeldon can handle a NFL defense, but he’s shaping up to be a starter that you can get later than expected in your drafts. However, he’s going late for two reasons. One, he’s a rookie and unknown. Two, he’s a Jaguar and their offense line was really bad last year. Draft with both caution and optimism. Link to...

QBs Ryan Mallet and Brian Hoyer both work with first-team

Hoyer worked with the first-team on Saturday, August 1 and Mallet worked with the first-team Sunday, August 2. It’s probably going to go back and forth like that until after the second or third preseason game. Neither of these players are strong choices and it will probably be a difficult decision. Either way, don’t expect a whole lot from the Houston passing game. Link to...

WR Martavis Bryant to miss Hall of Fame preseason game

Mark this down as a gross and unusual injury: Bryant will be out a week to 10 days due to an ingrown hair that became infected and caused his elbow to swell. He had to have surgery to remove the infection. Whoa. Bryant has had a rather impressive off-season and many believe this second year talent will make a big jump in 2015. Last year he caught 26 passes for 549 yards and eight touchdowns. That’s 21.1 yards per catch! Link to...

Buffalo Bills name offensive line starters

Cordy Glenn will start at left tackle, but the big story is that Richie Incognito will start at left guard. Incognito sat out all of the 2014 season after being the headliner of a bullying scandal. Now he’s on a one-year contract and wants to help make holes to help RB LeSean McCoy run to glory. If he can keep his nose clean and be nice his talent will certainly be the upgrade for the Bills. If not, ugh… Link to...
