Update: It looks like Miles Austin will play.  We don’t think that changes anything, really, but we thought you should know.  This should be a high fantasy scoring fan.  Enjoy.  Play without reservations.

This week, we made some gut calls on Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray, Dez Bryant, Terrence Williams and Dallas Defense.

And example of what we think:

Tony Romo
#2 Ranked QB
Does Romo have a history of choking at inopportune times? Yes. Yes, he does. But if you are playing fantasy football, you need to block that out and admit that this guy is a must start. He may not kiss his bicep. He may not discount double-check. He may not hawk pizzas, but the guy will get you points. He’s playing one of the easiest defenses in the league, in a division game, and he will win your fantasy matchup for you. Let the media talking heads question him all they want. You, my friend, will play him with no reservations.

Each week the ladies of Her Fantasy Football will provide written fantasy analysis and commentary on our brother site, Cover32.com.  Please go over there and check out all the exciting new things that group has to offer in regards to league news.  They provide in-depth analysis, team by team, giving the fans a closer look at the teams they love.

Well, do you need a money manager to tell you that it’s expensive to attend a football game?  All you need to do is show up to a stadium and ask for a beer.  Outrageous.

But, funny enough, the beer prices have gone up the LEAST when you consider the price of bringing your family to the game.  According to Melanie Hicken at money.cnn.com:

While ticket prices have climbed more than 50% over the past decade, parking prices have more than doubled, according to the index. Beer prices, meanwhile, have climbed about 35% from 2003′s average of $5.21.money.cnn.com

It’s too bad.  One of the reasons I love my Broncos so much is because we had season tickets and would go as a family.  I’m going to have to win the lottery to make that happen for my kids, especially if we stay in New York (see the graphic below).

The good news, fantasy football is free!

Check out these prices and check out the article for more depressing facts and numbers.  Happy opening weekend!

There were some lovely moments during the Hall of Fame ceremony tonight, but this Offensive Lineman was funny and touching.  Larry Allen, you made those Cowboys proud.  I thought Jerry Jones was going to float out of his chair he was so filled with glee.

Do yourself a favor, click on the link and watch the cute moment.  While you’re there, check out the best moments through the videos.

Dallas CowboysDallas Cowboys Coach, Jason Garrett, suggested on local radio station KRLD-FM that Tony Romo will likely sit out the Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, August 4.  The HOF game brings back NFL Sundays… sort of.

Frankly, there will be very few starters playing in the game.  In fact, Coach Garrett hinted that even the backup QB, Kyle Orton, would sit out.

Later, Jason Garret walked back on those words and insisted that they had not decided on playing time for the preseason opener.  Hmm… I’m sure Jerry Jones had NOTHING to do with that announcement.  Also, I’m not a fan of sarcasm.  Yeah…

Anyway, don’t worry about Tony Romo.  He’s questionable for the game, but he’s super primed for fantasy productivity.  In fact, I’d bet he’s going to get in there for a couple plays and because sources say he wants to play and Jason Garrett seems to fold like a deck of cards.  Romo’s fully healed from the surgery he had to remove a cyst from his back in April and he’s participated fully in camp.  Looking good.

Listen, Romo is not a flashy guy.  He’s not young and sexy like Russell Wilson (super sexy) or Colin Kaepernick or RGIII, but he’s proactive and continues to be a fantasy football steal.  You can get him later in your draft after you stock up on RB and WR starters.

Jason Garrett: Tony Romo unlikely to play in HOF GameTony Romo is full-go in training camp, but don’t expect the Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback to suit up against the Miami Dolphins in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 4. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett told a local radio station Friday that his starting quarterback is likely to stay in bubble wrap in Canton, Ohio.
