Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

The only player that you have consistently played from this team is Andre Johnson and his value and tanked for this week with Case Keenum’s injury. Ben Tate has been the other player of consideration and his ribs might have waved the white flag this week. It’s not looking good for the Texans.

Gut Calls

Ben Tate

#24 Ranked RB

This guy has been beat up for weeks now and might have finally hit the wall. He had a CT scan on his ribs and they are waiting for his results. He was still able to get you 9 points but you will probably need more than that to win a championship game. Perhaps flex play, but look to see if he will even be active. If he isn’t, Dennis Johnson will get the start. We don’t recommend handcuffing yourself to him unless you absolutely have to.

Bench Warmers

Case Keenum

#26 Ranked QB

I shouldn’t have to even mention it but in case you are homer and want to play a Texans player, this is not the guy, and his sprained thumb should be just an added reason to not go there. Thumbs down for Keenum.

Other Notables:

The Texans wide receivers. There is no one to throw them the ball but go with Andre Johnson if you have to. The Broncos secondary is nothing to write home about.

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Peyton Manning

#1 Ranked QB

Peyton is the #1 fantasy scoring player in the entire league. You should run to the Championship with him. Houston is better on defense then they are on offense. They give up the 11th fewest points to QBs. Thank goodness Peyton has a lot of people to throw to. Now that the Broncos have the same record as the Chiefs, we expect them to pick up their game and dominate the Texans.

Knowshon Moreno

#4 Ranked RB

Last week was the “Hey, how does five points sound?” Moreno and Ball were less than impressive against San Diego. There is just no way they can perform that way again. Houston gives up 13th most fantasy points to RBs and unless you have a clearly better matchup for your other RBs, Moreno is a Must Start.

Julius Thomas

#3 Ranked TE

Julius is due for a great game. Houston is pretty good at defending the WRs which leaves Julius open to score you a TD in Week 16. In fact, Julius scored a TD in all but three games this season. Don’t bench the guys who brought you here. Must Start.

Demaryius Thomas

#8 Ranked WR

Demaryius is Mr. Consistent. Seven of his last eight games have been double digits showings. Last week was just bad for everyone except Andre Caldwell. Do not jump on the Caldwell train, instead stick with the guys who helped you win games throughout the season. Thomas is a Must Start.

Denver Defense

#8 Ranked DEF

Overall we are not impressed by the Denver Defense this year. They only scored in the double-digits once since their bye in Week 9. Houston gives up the 3rd most fantasy points to DEFs and since 87% of you own them, this will be the week to play them. They are a Must Start this week.

Gut Calls

Eric Decker

#14 Ranked WR

Houston gives up the 5th fewest fantasy points to WRs so the Broncos are really going to need to spread the field. Decker is not Mr. Consistent but he has such a huge upside that he is hard to bench. He had a similar performance to everyone else last week with 4.20 fantasy points. Five of his games this season yielded less than five fantasy points, but five of his games went for over 10 points and the other five games somewhere in between. Boom or Bust player.

Bench Warmers

Wes Welker

#36 Ranked WR

He is very Questionable for Week 16 suffering from a concussion and as of today he has not been cleared to play and remained out of Thursday practice. Unless there is a Friday miracle, you can pretty much rule Welker out for Week 16.

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Peyton Manning

#1 Ranked QB

Peyton Manning is the top QB in standard fantasy football. That shouldn’t surprise anyone. San Diego gives up the 6th most fantasy points to QBs. The last time Manning played the Chargers he scored 27.10 fantasy points. Manning is a Must Start every week.

Knowshon Moreno

#5 Ranked RB

Moreno is the 3rd highest scoring RB in standard fantasy football. We know it frustrating watching Ball steal your fantasy points but when Moreno still scores 16.90 fantasy points you really can’t complain. He still scored the 8th most fantasy points for RBs in Week 14. Moreno seems to be healthy and ready to make an even bigger impact on the field.

Julius Thomas

#2 Ranked TE

Julius is the 3rd highest scoring TE in standard fantasy football even after sitting out two games. Thomas scored a TD in every game but two. He was coming off an injury last week and still had a TD and 35 yards receiving. Julius is one of the best TEs in the league and is a Must Start from here on out.

Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker

#3 and #9 Ranked WR

Demaryius Thomas is the 3rd highest scoring WR in standard fantasy football. It must be nice to own him. Eric Decker is the 9th highest scoring WR in standard fantasy football. The third WR for the Broncos is one of the top 10 WRs in the league. Beware of the Broncos benching their top players if they get more of a lead in their division.

Matt Prater

#1 Ranked K

Congratulations to Prater for beating the record for longest field goal during an NFL game with 64-yards. He will be in the thin air of Mile High again this week. Prater is the 2nd highest scoring kicker. Must Start.

Gut Calls

Montee Ball

#30 Ranked RB

Ball is real possibility for your Flex. He was the 17th highest RB last week and in three of the last four games Ball scored double digit fantasy points. The Broncos are trying to keep everyone fresh for the playoffs and Ball is great option to play with 15 touches a game.

Bench Warmers

Wes Welker

#47 Ranked WR

Welker suffered another concussion Sunday against Tennessee. You need to find a back up for Mr. Welker.

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Peyton Manning

#2 Ranked QB

Over 400 passing yards for the third time this season for Mr. Peyton Manning. He might have thrown two INTs but he also threw five TDs. It was another amazing game for Peyton and the Denver Broncos. Tennessee gives up the 4th fewest fantasy points to QBs. The Tennessee Defense started off better than how they have been playing lately. The Broncos should have a good (but not great) game this week, but good enough to start most of them.

Knowshon Moreno

#4 Ranked RB

Moreno was held to just 18 rushing yards against the Chiefs last week, but also added 72 yards receiving. This shows that the Broncos do whatever it takes to get him involved in the offense. Going up against the Titans, who give up the 6th most fantasy points to opposing RBs, Moreno is in for another big game. Must Start.

Demaryius Thomas

#11 Ranked WR

Thomas came away with 106 yards receiving and no TDs. Thomas remains a high-end WR1 and can be trusted moving forward. The Titans give up the fewest points against opposing WRs, but they haven’t faced a team like the Broncos…EVER. Look for D-Thomas to put up good numbers against the Titans.

Wes Welker

#23 Ranked WR

The Broncos WRs scoring pattern isn’t difficult to figure out: the guy that hasn’t been scoring gets a lot of looks. That means that Wes Welker will have a big game against the Titans. Start him with confidence.

Gut Calls

Eric Decker

#17 Ranked WR

Decker owners who had him on the bench last week against the Chiefs probably had a meltdown. But before you rush him back into your lineup, remember you benched him for a reason. Before Sunday Decker’s last game totals were 4.2, 5.2, 7.1 and .5. Those aren’t great numbers. You have to decide if you will get 41.4 point Decker or .5-point Decker. Big risk yet high reward.

Monte Ball

#22 Ranked RB

Ball rushed for 117 yards on 13 carries against a tough Chiefs defense last week. After that performance, Ball is the clear #2 RB in Denver. The fact is, Ball is still a backup to Moreno and should be played knowing the risk involved.

Bench Warmers

Jacob Tamme

Not Ranked TE

With the status of Julius Thomas still unknown, Tamme should not be seen as a good replacement. Get him out of your lineups and pray for Thomas to return quickly.

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Peyton Manning

#5 Ranked QB

It is Peyton so he is must starts. We may have him ranked super high, as does everyone else, but he only scored 14.92 fantasy points two weeks ago against the Chiefs. Manning passed for 150 yards, one TD, and one INT last week against New England, which gave you a whopping 12.00 fantasy points. You never bench your studs so most likely you will play him. The Chiefs give up the 9th fewest fantasy points to QBs.

Demaryius Thomas

#5 Ranked WR

Thomas has scored 6 TDs in the last five games. The one game in which he didn’t score a TD he had 121 receiving yards. Last week Thomas had 41 yards receiving and a TD. He is becoming Peyton’s favorite target and should always be in your lineup.

Wes Welker and Eric Decker

#19 Ranked WR and #23 Ranked WR

If Moreno is out Manning will be forced to throw more which should help these guys get back on the WRs map. Welker was held to 31 yards against the Patriots and had a few drops. Decker had one catch for five yards last week. Both players had just over 70 yards two weeks ago against the Chiefs. That might be good enough for you 3rd WR, but Kansas City gives up the 14th fewest points to WRs.

Gut Calls

Knowshon Moreno

#2 Ranked RB

Moreno is Questionable for Sunday, but if he plays you should play him. Moreno carried the ball 37 times for 224 yards last week. He is a huge part of the offense. Kansas City gives up the 15th fewest fantasy points to RBs, but the Broncos will need him to play if they want to win this one. Who would have thought that Peyton and his deadly receivers would have such a Moreno heavy game plan?

Montee Ball

#35 Ranked RB

Keep watching Broncos news. If Moreno is out, or very limited, that will increase Ball’s fantasy worth. Ball had 40 yards rushing and 17 yards receiving before being benched for a fumble in the 3rd quarter. Lucky for him this is a problem for the entire backup RB corps. Ball had 16.10 fantasy points against the Chiefs in Week 11.

Bench Warmers

Julius Thomas

#5 Ranked TE

The Broncos came out and said Julius is very Questionable. We say take him out of your lineup and find a new TD for your team for Week 13.  Two weeks ago against the Chiefs Julius had 43 yards and a TD. Kansas gives up the fewest fantasy points to TEs.

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Rob Gronkowski

#2 Ranked TE

The big man scored the 7th most fantasy points last week and would have tied for the most points by a TE last week if he had caught that TD in the last seconds of the game (that was nowhere near him). Gronk is a beast and you should always start him. The Broncos DEF was really bad the first part of the season but they have been really good the second half so don’t look at the statistics and think this will be an easy scoring game for the Patriots.

Gut Calls

Tom Brady

#4 Ranked QB

Technically he should be on the bench as he was only the 18th highest scoring QB last week which means no one should have been playing him. This week is no different. The Broncos do allow points to opposing QBs so he won’t get shut down but there will still be other QBs who will score more points and are a safer bet.

Steven Ridley, Shane Vereen and LeGarrette Blount

#16 Ranked RB, #22 Ranked RB and #39 Ranked RB

It is not pretty, guys. Ridley should be the RB in New England, but he fumbled so Belichick sidelined him and he only got to play 6 snaps after the mishap. Belichick does this so now you truly have no idea what kind of production you will get out of him. Vereen got a total of 34 snaps in comparison to Ridley’s 16 snaps and Blount was in for 19 snaps. You have a committee now, which means you can’t be sure about any of them. Who cares that the Broncos give up more than average points to RBs, you aren’t sure which of them will have a break out game or if all of them will have about 6 points like last week.

Danny Amendola, Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson

#20 Ranked WR, #63 Ranked WR and #25 Ranked WR

Same thing goes for the Patriots WRs. You have no idea who will actually score the most, as Brady likes to spread the wealth. Great from a team perspective, but terrible from a fantasy perspective. Before Gronk was back, your WRs had a bit more value. Amendola is the best option if you are in a PPR league but Thompkins actually had the most point last week; you can’t really count on any of these guys to produce for you week in and week out at this point.

Bench Warmers

Patriots DEF

#23 Ranked DEF

Hopefully you have figured out by now that you should bench whichever DEF is playing against the Broncos this year. The Patriots DEF is no different. Have them on your bench.

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Peyton Manning

#3 Ranked QB

So, last week wasn’t a huge game for Peyton as we all thought it would be. Kansas is the toughest DEF in the league. New England is not, though, and this should be a shoot-out. Peyton has more fantasy points this year then any other QB and other player in the league. He is a must start this week against New England who give up the 15th most fantasy points to QBs.

Knowshon Moreno

#7 Ranked RB

So, Moreno didn’t have his best game last week either. He wasn’t given the ball in the red zone nor was he thrown to. Moreno should be right back into his normal starting RB status, running and catching the ball. New England gives up the 16th most fantasy points to RBs.

Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker

#5 Ranked WR and #16 Ranked WR

Demaryius had 121 yards receiving last week against the Chiefs and Decker had 71 yards. Demaryius is the clear #1 WR for the Broncos but, with Welker possiblly out or limited, this means Decker might see some more targets this week against New England. All 3 WRs are ranked somewhere in the top 25 which means they are a must start every week except the Chiefs next week. New England gives up the 15th fewest fantasy points to WRs.

Gut Calls

Julius Thomas

#4 Ranked TE

Julius is only in Gut Calls because he suffered a knee injury last Sunday against the Chiefs. He returned to the game but is listed as day-to-day. Julius has had 590 yards and 10 TDs this year and is a must start if he is “ok” to play. New England has given up the 11th fewest fantasy points to TEs.

Wes Welker

#11 Ranked WR

Welker left the game with a concussion against the Chiefs and has pasted  the league’s protocol for concussions. That means he practice Friday if was is cleared to play on Sunday against the Patriots. Welker is still listed as probable. New England is Welker’s former team and he will want a large part in beating them. If he plays, you should play him.

Bench Warmers

Denver DEF

#17 Ranked DEF

Denver’s DEF is looking a lot better lately with some of their injured and/or suspended guys coming back but this is not the week to start them.

Kansas City Chiefs 9-0 at Denver Broncos 8-1

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Peyton Manning

#6 Ranked QB

We get that the Broncos are going up against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs with a very hard defense, but you never bench your studs. Manning threw for 330 yards and 4 TDs and a FUM last week against San Diego. Kansas might give up the 7th fewest fantasy points to QBs, but they haven’t played Peyton Manning.

Knowshon Moreno

#10 Ranked RB

Moreno had 0 TDs last week, but he did rush for 65 yards and had 49 yards receiving. That still gives you 11.40 fantasy points without a look in the red zone. Kansas City is tough against the run and Moreno will have a harder time getting his usual yardage this week. We expect Moreno to get a 1-yard TD to make up for the loss of yards.

Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker

#8 Ranked WR and #10 Ranked WR

What a crazy group of WRs. Thomas had 108 yards and 3 TDs leaving Welker with only 21 yards. Last week was Welker’s worst game by far but don’t let that make you think about benching him. He had two games at 9 fantasy points but the rest of his games were in double digits. Thomas had a hard time getting away from defenders in a couple games and scored less than 6 fantasy points. Both players have huge upside with Manning throwing them the ball.

Julius Thomas

#3 Ranked TE

Julius might be Questionable but that didn’t stop him from getting 96 yards and a TD last week. There are only a few great TEs in the league and Julius is one of them. Kansas gives up the fewest fantasy points to TEs, but there are so many weapons on the Broncos offense it will be hard to stop Orange Julius.

Matt Prater

#3 Ranked K

We know the 4 points that Prater gave you last week was disappointing, but if the Broncos fall prey to Kansas City’s tough defense this could be a big game for Prater. And just remind yourself; at least you didn’t have Vinatieri.

Gut Calls

Eric Decker

#15 Ranked WR

We put Decker in gut calls simply because he had another huge drop last week against the Chargers. Everything is going to count against the Chiefs. Also, in three of the last four games, Decker scored 5.20 fantasy points or less. Manning does like Decker and he scored over 18 points in two games this season.  You will probably start him, but don’t forget about his drops.

Bench Warmers

No one is on the bench this week. The motto for the Denver Broncos is that you never bench your studs. No one really knows how this division game is going to turn out but it’s a must watch.

Philip Rivers

#5 Ranked QB

Where Philip is, INTs follow. The good news is that he throws for tons of yards, 341 to be exact last week.  He throws TDs as well. His 2 TDs last week helped him get you 18 fantasy points and he was the 12th highest scoring QB. Overall, Philip is the 5th highest scoring QB so far this season.  This week he plays the Broncos in a divisional matchup and in what is usually a shoot out.  Did we mention the Broncos give up the 7th most points to QBs?  Philip sure hopes so.

Keenan Allen

#10 Ranked WR

Welcome to the starting roster my friend. Three out of his last four games have produced double digit fantasy scored.  Philip has to throw to someone and Allen is the guy. He scored 18 fantasy points last week, then a bye, then a measly 6, but then he had 16 and 17 points. We like what we see.  This guy is owned in less than half of the leagues out there. Pick him up and play him against the Broncos terrible secondary.

Gut Calls

Antonio Gates

#6 Ranked TE

Gates had an okay week against the Redskins who are just okay at defending TEs.  The Broncos are slightly worse so expect slightly better numbers than last week. He is the 7th highest scoring TE overall thus far this season so you probably still need to play him.

Danny Woodhead

#16 Ranked RB

He had a pretty decent game last week scoring 9 fantasy points. With the Broncos DEF being not-so-great against the rush or the pass, this should play nicely into what Woodhead can offer the Chargers and his fantasy owners.

Eddie Royal

#49 Ranked WR

Royal also had a nice week with 56 yards and 1 TD. You can score on the Broncos so Royal might be able to find the end zone again making it 3 weeks in a row. We don’t like him as much as we like Allen, but he is still a viable option.

Bench Warmers

Chargers DEF

#27 Ranked DEF

We say this about every team that plays the Broncos: not a wise start. Denver gives up the fewest points to opposing defenses and we don’t think this week will be any different.

Ryan Mathews

#25 Ranked RB

There you are, back on the bench. One might argue that he had tow back-to-back 100 yard performances and perhaps last week was out of the norm and you can expect him to bounce back. You would be wrong. We are going with history on this one, and he is historically bad.

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Peyton Manning

#1 Ranked QB

Manning is the man. He has only had two games under 20 fantasy points, one game over 30 points and one game over 40 points. You never bench Manning. San Diego gives up the 5th most fantasy points to QBs.

Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas, and Eric Decker

#8 Ranked WR, #4 Ranked WR, and #14 Ranked WR

This trio of WRs is unstoppable. They each have their own strengths and complement each other very well. San Diego gives up the 7th most points to WRs. Could this be the game each of them scores a TD?

Knowshon Moreno

#9 Ranked RB

Moreno has been great since Week 3. He scored 19.20 fantasy points the week before the bye against Washington. San Diego is tougher on RBs than other positions, but Moreno will see the majority of the touches for the first three quarters. We love RBs coming off a bye.

Matt Prater

#1 Ranked K

Prater is a must start every week. The Broncos should have a good game and Prater should have plenty of chances to kick.

Gut Calls

Julius Thomas

#2 Ranked TE

Thomas is Questionable this week and did not practice on Monday. For that, he is in Gut Calls. If he plays, you play him.

Denver Defense

#10 Ranked DEF

Denver DEF is very up and down this year. They are starting to get healthy and play well together. Rivers likes to throw INTs, so if you play them, look for a pick-six.
