Chicago Bears – Fantasy Forecast – Week 14
Dallas Cowboys 7-5 at Chicago Bears 6-6
Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em
Josh McCown and Jay Cutler
#10 and Not Ranked QB
Jay Cutler is still day-to-day and has not practiced so we can assume McCown will start on Monday night. Make sure the check the injury reports for the remainder of the week so you don’t get stuck with the wrong player. However, the match-up is fabulous. Dallas gives up the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing QBs and the Bears may have the deadliest collection of offensive weapons in the league. It’s almost impossible to tell you to bench a QB with Forte, Marshall, Jeffery and Bennett on his side.
Matt Forte
#5 Ranked RB
Let’s put it this way: Forte is one of the best RBs in the league, against anyone, and he will go up against the defense that gives up the absolute most fantasy points to opposing RBs. Forte owners, welcome to round two of the playoffs.
Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery
#2 and #5 Ranked WR
We don’t want to tell you that Alshon Jeffery will break the Bears’ receiving record, but he’s done just that TWICE this season. Last week he caught 12 passes for 249 yards and two TDs. Hopefully you won’t need more convincing than that stat line to start Jeffery every week. But Brandon Marshall is the marquee player, and this might be a great week for a Marshall comeback. Defenses can’t just key in on Marshall because Jeffrey proved he can shred defenses as well. Start both guys.
Gut Calls
Martellus Bennett
#12 Ranked TE
Dallas gives up the 6th most fantasy points to opposing TEs, so he’s a Must Start. He wasn’t great last week, but he was hurt, so hope for a bounce back game. With the erratic play at the TE position this year, we think playing this match-up is the only way to go.
Bench Warmers
Chicago Defense
#20 Ranked DEF
Hopefully next year will fare better for the Bears, but this year they are a fantasy disappointment. Dallas gives up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to opposing DEFs but you probably shouldn’t play the Chicago Defense at all. Don’t just bench, drop.
