Miami Dolphins (6-5) at New York Jets (2-9)
Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em
Ryan Tannehill– #7 Ranked QB
It is time…the time has come. Ryan Tannehill should be a starter in your line-up. Plain and simple. He was the 3rd highest scoring quarterback last week throwing 3 touchdowns and looking pretty darn smooth. He is also the 8th highest scoring quarterback in the league this year. It is time to take this guy seriously. The fact that he is playing the Jet’s who give up the absolute most points to quarterbacks is the icing on top of a must start status.
Miami Dolphins Defense– #2 Ranked DEF
The Miami defense is the 3rd best defense for the year and when you have a team like the turnover happy Jet’s playing against them, it should be a field day for them.
Gut Calls
Notable: Mike Wallace- #20 Ranked WR
Lamar Miller– #22 Ranked RB
Miller is the 15th highest scoring RB for the season. I know, I know…I was shocked too. He had a pretty rough outing last week but the Broncos defense is better than you would think giving up the 6th fewest points to running backs. Well the Jets give up the 7th fewest points so this week more than likely won’t be much better. The reality is that you will more than likely need to start him but temper your expectations.
Don Sims and Charles Clay– #39 Ranked TE and #19 Ranked TE
Sims is only in because Charles Clay is out with an injury. I am not saying that you should play him by any means, but if you are in a pinch and need to play someone because you held out hoping Thomas would play and he didn’t, Sims is your guy as he is only owned in 6.7% of espn leagues. Charles Clay was spotted at practice but he is still day to day so check your injury reports. Again, both of these guys are only an option if you are in a Julius Thomas pinch.
Jarvis Landry– #34 Ranked WR
The past four weeks have seen Jarvis Landry included in the offensive schemes much more than usual. He had 2 touchdowns last week which means Tannehill has confidence in him. This is now 3 touchdowns in the last 2 weeks. If you are looking for a boom…boom with Landry.
Bench Warmers
Brandon Gibson and Brian Hartline– Not Ranked WR and #73 Ranked WR
The Jet’s do not have a great secondary but don’t let this tempt you to play either one of these guys. They are not used enough and are not consistent in their own play to expect a hot performance. Stay away.
