Jones-Drew is a big part of the Jaguars offense even if they don’t have much of an offense. They are starting to look better and it helps that Jones-Drew is starting to look better as well. He averages 13.58 fantasy points per game. If that is better then your current RBs or Flex then Jones-Drew is a Must Start. He rushed for 77 yards and threw for a TD last week against the Browns. The Jaguars use him everywhere and Houston gives up the 13^th most fantasy points to RBs.

#28 Ranked WR

Shorts had a great game (for him) on Sunday against the Browns with 64 yards and a TD. Houston gives up 6^th fewest fantasy points to WRs, which does not leave Shorts too much room to be successful coming off a short week and an injury. Shorts averages 6.66 fantasy points in his last five games so that makes him a WR3, at best. We don’t love his matchup this week.

#31 Ranked TE

This is the Jaguars best matchup against Houston. The Texans give up the 10^th most fantasy points to TEs. Don’t let his 8.6 fantasy points last week entice you to start him during playoffs. If you take away last week’s game, Lewis averages 1.94 fantasy points per game on the whole season.

No must-starts for the Jaguars, not because of their opponent… just because the Jaguars do not have any must-starts.

Gut Calls

Maurice Jones-Drew

#21 Ranked RB

Lets start with he got a TD against a very tough DEF last week. With that said, he only had 23 yards rushing and 12 yards receiving against the Cardinals. Jones-Drew is not the man he used to be and, with no one else to protect on the Jaguars, it makes his job even harder. Someone is going to score and most likely it will be Jones-Drew. Houston gives up the 17^th most fantasy points to RBs.

Cecil Shorts

#31 Ranked WR

Shorts scored a total of 13.80 points in the last three games. He is really bad and so is his QB. We are putting him in Gut Calls simply because he threw a fit last week after his 1 target in garbage time. When a WR starts crying about not getting the ball more they tend to see the ball a lot more. You need to be in a very deep league to take the risk on Shorts. Houston gives up the 5^th fewest fantasy points to WRs.

Bench Warmers

Everyone else on the Jaguars should be benched and it all starts with Chad Henne. He has an average of 9.4 fantasy points per game. The Jaguars are staying with Henne because their backup, Gabbert, is even worse. Mercedes Lewis has had a total of 7.90 points in the last four games. If you don’t know who he is: he is the TE for the Jaguars that has done nothing this year. Mike Brown, the second WR to Shorts, had 2.30 points last week and 4.00 points the week before. He has both an AC sprain and Chad Henne throwing the ball to him.
