Miami Dolphins – Fantasy Forecast – Week 15

Cover32LogoNew England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Brian Hartline

#31 Ranked WR

Two weeks in a row of solid fantasy production. Hartline continues to see open looks as Wallace stretches the field vertically. When you look at the way New England gives up points to opposing WRs, you see that the number two or three WR scores the majority of the points. Start Hartline with confidence and walk away with a solid 10 fantasy points this week.

Ryan Tannehill

#14 Ranked QB

Tannehill is hot!  Over the last four weeks Tannehill is the #7 fantasy QB, scoring at least 18 points in his last three games. Over that same span he averages 33 rushing yards per game. His running ability was on display against the Steelers last week and you can expect the same against the Patriots. Start Tannehill and let him take you to a fantasy championship game.

Gut Calls

Daniel Thomas

#33 Ranked RB

Last week everyone said Thomas’ season was finished, but oddly he was added to the active roster. When Lamar Miller was knocked out of the game Thomas went in and played his best game of the season scoring almost 17 fantasy points. If Miller isn’t cleared to play this week, Thomas has a great matchup against the Patriots DEF, which has given up almost 60 fantasy points to RBs in a two-week span.

Bench Warmers

Lamar Miller

#51 Ranked RB

Miller was knocked out of game with a concussion last weekend. While some close to the team say the concussion shouldn’t stop Miller from playing against the Patriots, we would still be nervous about starting Miller. Rashad Jennings missed last week with a concussion and Jordan Reed missed three straight weeks with a concussion. There is a real possibility of an in-game injury.

Mike Wallace

#26 Ranked WR

Hopefully you listened to our advice last week and sat Wallace against his former team and teammate Ike Taylor. This week will be another down week for Wallace as he squares off against top corner Aqib Talib and the New England Defense. The Dolphins will take their shots down field, but this isn’t Wallace’s week.

Miami Dolphins – Fantasy Forecast – Week 14

Cover32LogoMiami Dolphins 6-6 at Pittsburgh Steelers 5-7

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Caleb Sturgis

#11 Ranked Kicker

Sturgis put up two great fantasy weeks in a row, scoring 11 and 12 points in each game. This week against Pittsburg it will be a field goal battle with the two defenses taking over the game. Temperatures for Sunday’s game are expected to be below freezing and that only benefits Sturgis. Pittsburg gives up the 8th most fantasy points to opposing Ks.

Gut Calls

Brain Hartline

#37 Ranked WR

Hartline had a great game last week catching nine passes for 127 yards and a TD. He was free to run across the middle of the field with the Jets doing everything they could to stop Mike Wallace. Expect those numbers to come down a bit this week against the Steelers. Ike Taylor will cover Wallace one-on-one, which means more help can be devoted to stopping Hartline. If you are hurting for 7-8 points this week we expect Hartline to be the top Dolphins WR. But it does come with some risk.

Lamar Miller

#39 Ranked RB

Miller is an interesting play this week as he is the only RB for the Dolphins. Last week against the Jets he averaged 3.3 yards per carry. That sounds terrible, but against the best rush defense in the league it’s a small victory. The Steelers give up the 14th most fantasy points to opposing RBs and this game could easily turn into a showdown of RBs.

Bench Warmers

Mike Wallace

#24 Ranked WR

Last week we told you to start Wallace against a weak Jet’s secondary and all he did was catch seven passes for 82 yards and a TD. That was last week, and this week Wallace will return home to Pittsburg to face off against his old team. Ike Taylor will cover him and this should give Wallace owners serious concern. Taylor shuts down every WR he goes up against. Wallace gets the bench this week.

Ryan Tannehill

#16 Ranked QB

Tannehill had a great game last week against the terrible Jets secondary and rewarded fantasy owners with 22 points. But let’s be honest, that was a one night stand. Sure, he did everything right. The foreplay was great, but one night does not make a fantasy husband. The Steelers are solid against the pass and this makes for a low scoring game.

Miami Dolphins – Fantasy Forecast – Week 13

Cover32LogoMiami Dolphins 5-6 at New York Jets 5-6

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Mike Wallace

#22 Ranked WR

Wallace had his best game this season with 127 yards receiving and a TD. Wallace faces the New York Jets secondary that gives up the 9th most points to opposing fantasy WRs. Wallace will face off against cornerback Antonio Cromartie who got destroyed by Torrey Smith last week on a 60-yard bomb. The numbers would have been worse if Smith was able to catch another wide open 50 yard bomb. Wallace goes deep and Cromartie can’t cover deep. It’s going to be a big, big day.

Gut Calls

Brain Hartline

#39 Ranked WR

Hartline shows up in “Gut Calls” because the Dolphins will throw all over the field against the helpless Jets secondary. With Wallace stretching the field deep, Hartline will be free to roam the middle of the field. Expect about 75 yards with the possibility of a TD.

Ryan Tannehill

#19 Ranked QB

If you play in a deep league, 12-14 teams, Tannelhill deserves an honest look this week. On paper it is his best matchup of the season and the guy is a model of consistency. In eight of his 11 games he scored at least 14 fantasy points and this week that number has A LOT of upside. We see him as a high end QB2 with lots of potential.

Bench Warmers

Lamar Miller

#52 Ranked RB

Miller had eight yards rushing and 39 yards receiving. Although Daniel Thomas is injured and expected to sit the rest of year, Miller is still stuck with a horrible offensive line. Although he no longer faces the threat of racial slurs in the locker room, he still faces arguably the best rush defense in the league.
