Arizona Cardinals – Fantasy Forecast – Week 11

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Arizona Defense

#2 Ranked DEF

The defense is awesome on normal weeks, but now they play the Jaguars.  Jacksonville give up the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing defenses, so play with confidence.

Andre Ellington

#23 Ranked RB

If you are ever going to start Ellington and feel good about it, this is your chance.  He’s not your RB1, but you should consider him for your RB2 or Flex.  The Jaguars give up the 5th most fantasy points to opposing RBs and Carson Palmer can’t get the air game on its feet.  Sadly, no matter how well Ellington plays, it’s officially a time-share.  Last week Ellington had 13 touches to Mendenhall’s 14.  Look for a score this week.  We’re feeling lucky.

Gut Calls

Larry Fitzgerald

#22 Ranked WR

Last week the Texans held Fitzgerald to 3 catches for 23 yards.  Ugly.  Playing against the Jaguars usually means receivers get to show off, but he’s so inconsistent.  All of those off-season dreams about a Palmer/Fitzgerald marriage built to rival that of the Warner/Fitzgerald connection, well, those dreams are gone.  It’s been a ho-hum, up and down season.

Bench Warmers

Carson Palmer

#26 Ranked QB

We’re on a mission.  Palmer has never been higher than the 14th ranked QB for the week or over 15 fantasy points since Week 1.  We know this is a juicy matchup against the Jaguars, but don’t give into the temptation to give Palmer a chance.

Rashard Mendenahll

#30 Ranked RB

Remember our saying that this is a time-share and that Mendenhall actually got one more touch last week?  Well, you should also know that he only scored 3.1 fantasy points off all 14 of those touches.  His lack of production, especially given the amount of opportunities, is staggering.  The Jaguars’ defense does let RBs run free, but it’s so hard to trust Mendenhall.  Coach Arians said there is “no doubt” that Mendenhall remains the starter, but we don’t care about who starts.  We care about yards and TDs.  And did we mention he fumbled in the fourth quarter last week?  We just don’t get it.
