Dallas Cowboys 5-5 at New York Giants 4-6
Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em
DeMarco Murray
#15 Ranked RB
There was a Murray sighting in Week 10 before the bye, and it was positive! Murray rushed for 89 yards and 1 TD and tacked on another 6 yards receiving (every little bit counts). This team needs a balanced attack and they need to take the pressure off Romo. Oddly enough, the New York Giants give up the 8th fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs, but we’d still start him.
Dez Bryant
#6 Ranked WR
According to ESPN Dallas, Dez said the Cowboys spent the bye developing ideas to get him out of double coverage. Hmm. His fantasy owners certainly hope they figured something out because before the bye he only caught 1 pass for 44 yards. He was only targeted TWICE the whole game. No one doubts the fact that Bryant is a talented receiver, but if you’re a legitimate WR1, you’re going to deal with double coverage. Seriously, has Calvin Johnson EVER been in single coverage? We still have him as a must-start in a divisional match-up, but his season numbers are disappointing.
Gut Calls
Tony Romo
#6 Ranked QB
The Cowboys need to win this game, so we think there’s a real possibility Romo plays his heart out and scores a ton of fantasy points. Unfortunately, this is the kind of match-up where Romo chokes. It’s 50/50 as to whether he’ll be Good Romo or Bad Romo. Over the last four weeks, Romo has averaged 16.75 fantasy points per game. That’s just on the fringe of being a fantasy starter. Go with your gut.
Jason Witten
#5 Ranked TE
Witten drives his owners to the brink of insanity. It’s an up and down year for TEs in general, so you’re probably playing him. He was targeted six times in his last game, but he only caught 2 passes for 27 yards. Something is off. He’s dropped a lot of balls, and that’s out of character. Hopefully he bounces back against the Giants, but he makes us nervous.
Dallas Defense
#11 Ranked DEF
The Giants give up the MOST fantasy points to opposing DEFs. However, the Cowboys gave you negative numbers before the bye against New Orleans. Don’t let the 4-game winning streak fool you: the Giants are still terrible, turnover machines. You just also need to believe that Dallas will make the most of their defensive opportunities. Fingers crossed.
Bench Warmers
Miles Austin
#53 Ranked WR
There’s some talk about Austin coming back this week. Although we hope the best for him, we cannot tell you to start him. He’s had pretty much zero fantasy production this year. Don’t get cute.
