Chicago Bears 3-4 at New England Patriots 5-2
Week 8 – New England Patriots Fantasy Forecast
Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em
Tom Brady – 11th Ranked QB
Congrats Brady on another game over 20 fantasy points. He had 261 yards passing and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. If his receivers could catch the ball, that game wouldn’t have been so close. Brady should have another good game with Chicago giving up the 10th most fantasy points to Quarterbacks and Brady appears to be in a groove.
Rob Gronkowski – 3rd Ranked TE
Gronkowski had his 2nd game in a row without a touchdown. I think this week he will break that streak and have a touchdown and 70 yards. Bold prediction but if anyone can do it coming off a game with only 68 yards it is Gronk.
Shane Vereen – 16th Ranked RB
Belichick did not screw Vereen’s fantasy owners last week. That is the biggest surprise of Week 7. Vereen rushed for 43 yards and had 71 yards receiving with 2 touchdowns. Hopefully Belichick will continue to use him so we can feel good when we put him in our lineups. This week the Patriots will need to spread the ball around to keep the defense confused. Vereen will be a Must Start for PPR leagues and a RB2 or flex for others.
Stephen Gostkowski – 1st Ranked K
Last week he only got you 9 fantasy points. He remains the number one Kicker in fantasy points. Chicago gives up the 2nd most fantasy points to Kickers. Must Start every week.
Gut Calls
Julian Edelman – 19th Ranked WR
Edelman had 9 targets but only 4 receptions for 44 yards and another 8 yards rushing. For some reason he is having trouble catching the ball. He has had only 1 game over 10 points in the last five games. Edelman is usually a Must Start because of the potential but you might find someone on your bench that is more reliable.
Bench Warmers
There are a few guys that might have some fantasy worth this week. Belichick is very unpredictable so this is a very risky play but “Only you know how desperate you are”.
