Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

No Must Starts, although the game looked a lot better with Kirk in as QB.

Gut Calls

Pierre Garcon

#9 Ranked WR

So Garcon had one good game, in fact the best game he’s had since Week 2. Dallas is a really bad defense so maybe Garcon can repeat. We understand if you don’t trust him and that is why he falls in Gut Calls but everything on paper says he is going to have a good game.

Alfred Morris

#17 Ranked RB

This is playoffs people. Morris is in Gut Calls simply because Dallas gives up the most fantasy points to RBs. If he were playing anyone else we would have benched him. He only has one double-digit fantasy game in the past five weeks.

Kirk Cousins

#3 Ranked QB

He thorws! Yes, Cousins threw two INTs and fumbled but he also threw for three TDs and 381 yards. Not bad! You know what is bad? The Dallas Defense. Dallas gives up the absolute most fantasy points to opposing QBs. This would be a crazy play but might pay off for you. There will be a shoot out in Dallas and Cousins will throw a lot.

Bench Warmers

Washington’s Defense

#31 Ranked DEF

Dallas loves to score points. Washington’s DEF isn’t any good anyways so they are a clear Bench Warmer.

Denver Broncos Featured Image

Denver Broncos – Fantasy Forecast – Week 16

Cover32LogoDenver Broncos 11-3 at Houston Texans 2-12

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Peyton Manning

#1 Ranked QB

Peyton is the #1 fantasy scoring player in the entire league. You should run to the Championship with him. Houston is better on defense then they are on offense. They give up the 11th fewest points to QBs. Thank goodness Peyton has a lot of people to throw to. Now that the Broncos have the same record as the Chiefs, we expect them to pick up their game and dominate the Texans.

Knowshon Moreno

#4 Ranked RB

Last week was the “Hey, how does five points sound?” Moreno and Ball were less than impressive against San Diego. There is just no way they can perform that way again. Houston gives up 13th most fantasy points to RBs and unless you have a clearly better matchup for your other RBs, Moreno is a Must Start.

Julius Thomas

#3 Ranked TE

Julius is due for a great game. Houston is pretty good at defending the WRs which leaves Julius open to score you a TD in Week 16. In fact, Julius scored a TD in all but three games this season. Don’t bench the guys who brought you here. Must Start.

Demaryius Thomas

#8 Ranked WR

Demaryius is Mr. Consistent. Seven of his last eight games have been double digits showings. Last week was just bad for everyone except Andre Caldwell. Do not jump on the Caldwell train, instead stick with the guys who helped you win games throughout the season. Thomas is a Must Start.

Denver Defense

#8 Ranked DEF

Overall we are not impressed by the Denver Defense this year. They only scored in the double-digits once since their bye in Week 9. Houston gives up the 3rd most fantasy points to DEFs and since 87% of you own them, this will be the week to play them. They are a Must Start this week.

Gut Calls

Eric Decker

#14 Ranked WR

Houston gives up the 5th fewest fantasy points to WRs so the Broncos are really going to need to spread the field. Decker is not Mr. Consistent but he has such a huge upside that he is hard to bench. He had a similar performance to everyone else last week with 4.20 fantasy points. Five of his games this season yielded less than five fantasy points, but five of his games went for over 10 points and the other five games somewhere in between. Boom or Bust player.

Bench Warmers

Wes Welker

#36 Ranked WR

He is very Questionable for Week 16 suffering from a concussion and as of today he has not been cleared to play and remained out of Thursday practice. Unless there is a Friday miracle, you can pretty much rule Welker out for Week 16.

Weekly Positional Rankings 12.18.13

You are almost a champion!  If not, you still want to be better than worst.

The Saints cut their kicker (pull Hartley if you have him) and Cutler made his big come back to the Bears. maybe you saw Kirk Cousins play last week and realize he’s going up against Dallas/the worst defense of perhaps all time.  You may want to take some risks, but you need to know which risks are worth taking.

Check out the rankings and play the top player. Make sure to track injuries up until kickoff because injuries can ruin your week.

New Orleans Saints – Fantasy Forecast – Week 15

Cover32LogoNew Orleans Saints at St. Louis Rams

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Drew Brees

#3 Ranked QB

Brees threw for over 300 yards and four TDs last week against the very tough Carolina Defense. Maybe he was making up for his sad game against Seattle the week before. The Saints will go up against another tough DEF in St. Louis, but Brees is 2nd highest in scoring fantasy QB and got you this far. Never bench your studs.

Jimmy Graham

#1 Ranked TE

Graham is the top TE in the league by a lot. It clearly doesn’t matter who he plays you play him. He’s scored over 10 fantasy points against five of the top 10 defenses in the league. Graham is one of the ultimate Fantasy Husbands with more than 50 fantasy points over the next highest scoring TE, Vernon Davis. He is a Must Start as always.

Gut Calls

New Orleans DEF

#8 Ranked DEF

The Saints Defense hasn’t had the best year but they got to Cam Newton five times last week and St. Louis gives up the 10th most fantasy points to DEFs.

Bench Warmers

All Wide Receivers

Don’t forget what Colston has done to you all season. Before his 24.50 fantasy point performance with two TDs last week, he only had two TDs on the whole season. With only two games in the double digits other than last week we don’t recommend playing Colston in the playoffs. Kenny Stills hasn’t had a game to talk about since Week 10. Lance Moore hasn’t scored in the double digits and has only one TD on the season, yet he’s still owned in 33% of leagues. Someone will have a TD, maybe even two but we don’t know who.

All Running Backs

Let’s see here, there are three RBs sharing the ball and none of them scored double digits fantasy points last week for the second week in a row. If the RBs do get the ball, we don’t know who will be the main guy.

Seattle Seahawks Featured Image

Seattle Seahawks – Fantasy Forecast – Week 15

Cover32LogoSeattle Seahawks at New York Giants

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Russell Wilson

#8 Ranked QB

Wilson did not fair too well against the 49ers for round two this year. He only scored 10.16 fantasy points. He threw for less than 200 yards, only one TD and one INT. Not great, but he is the 7th highest scoring QB for the season so clearly he is able to score points. The Giants give up the 18th fewest points to QBs, which lands them right in the middle of pack, meaning Wilson should have a good chance at bouncing back this week.

Marshawn Lynch

#7 Ranked RB

Don’t bench the guys that got you here, and Lynch definitely played his part in getting you into the playoffs. The Giants give up the 12th fewest points to opposing RBs, so it won’t be a cakewalk for Lynch. Nonetheless you should play him.

Seahawks DEF

#2 Ranked DEF

Eli has been a mess this year, the WRs have been in consistent and the running game is just starting to find its footing. The Giants give up the most points to DEFs and the Seahawks are no average DEF. Should be a huge week.

Gut Calls

Seahawks WRs

No one is ever quite sure who will be the hot, or should we say lukewarm hand out of the Seahawks WRs. You have other WRs that you have been playing all year and stick with them. If you had to choose someone, let it be Golden Tate.

Bench Warmers

The Seahawks are a far superior team to the Giants; therefore no one is on the bench.

Pittsburgh Steelers – Fantasy Forecast – Week 15

Cover32LogoCincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Antonio Brown

#10 Ranked WR

Week in and week out Brown gets the targets, catches, yards and now even the TDs. He’s match-up proof. And last week (even though he was a baby toe out-of-bounds and negated one of the coolest last plays of a game, um, EVER) he managed to catch five passes for 137 yards and one TD. Yes, please. Cincinnati is a tough defense, but Brown keeps getting it done. Play him.

Gut Calls

Le’Veon Bell

#18 Ranked WR

He’s really a starter, but Cincinnati gives up the 5th fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs and the Steelers pass quite a bit. Last week Bell rushed 15 times for only 61 yards and then caught five passes for 23 yards. If he could find the end zone, he’d be great. And even thought the TDs don’t happen all that often, his fantasy floor is low. He’s had at least 20 touches in his last six games and that’s even after suffering a concussion. He’s reliable, and that’s worth something.

For Your Consideration: Almost Everyone Else – Ben Roethlisberger (QB), Emmanuel Sanders (WR), Jerricho Cotchery (WR), Heath Miller (TE)

Bench Warmers

Pittsburgh Defense

#19 Ranked DEF

Although the Pittsburgh Defense played better recently, the Bengals are hot right now. The Steelers aren’t the “defense first” kind of team we’re used to seeing. Next week they play at Green Bay and if Rodgers is still out, that would be your chance to give them a try.

Tennessee Titans Featured Image

Tennessee Titans – Fantasy Forecast – Week 15

Cover32LogoArizona Cardinals at Tennessee Titans

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Delanie Walker

Not Ranked TE

Walker practiced in full on Wednesday for the first time in over a week after he suffered a concussion. He’s still risky, so listen to the injury report Sunday morning, but he could be the sneakiest play of the week. First of all, the news of his return to practice is so new we didn’t rank him, so he might be on the waiver wire if someone had to drop him for a healthy player. Second, Arizona gives up the absolute most fantasy points to opposing TEs. They are TERRIBLE against TEs. It’s actually almost weird. Walker is a risk worth taking, but we stress, he is a risk.

Gut Calls

Chris Johnson

#24 Ranked RB

The exact opposite is true for RBs. Arizona gives up the absolute fewest points to opposing RBs so we ranked Johnson lower than usual. Last week he only rushed for 46 yards, but he did score one TD. He also caught two passes for nine yards. There’s always the potential of the “big play” with Johnson, but Arizona seems to shut that down for most players. You probably have to start him, but we’re nervous.

For Your Consideration: Tennessee Defense, Justin Hunter (WR)

Bench Warmers

Kendall Wright

#36 Ranked WR

Thanks for the info Coach. On Monday Coach Munchak revealed what all Wright fantasy owners suspected – he’s hurt! Not only is he hurt, but supposedly he suffered both ankle and shoulder injuries. Raise your hand if you wish you knew that before setting your lineup Sunday… Anyway, he’s too risky to play in the playoffs, but we love him for next year. Sadly, this also takes Fitzpatrick and Hunter down a peg. They need Wright as a threat to get that offense going.

Also Do Not Play: Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB)

Arizona Cardinals Featured Image

Arizona Cardinals – Fantasy Forecast – Week 15

Cover32LogoArizona Cardinals at Tennessee Titans

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Larry Fitzgerald

#16 Ranked WR

Last week Fitzgerald caught 12 passes for 96 yards and one TD when the Cardinals decided to beat up the Rams. You love when your WR plays with that sort of flair and domination. Cut to this week. You may not know this but Tennessee gives up the absolute fewest fantasy points to opposing WRs. We think Larry can make it through but you should temper your expectations and don’t expect 12 catches. That’s crazy-town.

Other Clear Starters: Arizona Defense

Gut Calls

Rashard Mendenhall

#26 Ranked RB

Hear us out. Tennessee gives up the 4th most fantasy points to opposing RBs. And even though Mendenhall splits carries with Ellington and he struggled with injuries around Week 7, he’s the 28th highest scoring RB on the season. He’s been especially good lately and last week rushed for 41 yards and one TD. The Cardinals need to run if they want to win this game. Mendenhall might be a sneaky play and if you really want to live on the edge, this would be your week to start Ellington. Run Cardinals, RUN!!!

For Your Consideration: Andre Ellington (RB), Jay Feely (K)

Bench Warmers

Michael Floyd

#35 Ranked WR

Floyd hurt his ankle again and didn’t practice on Wednesday.  This is a terrible match-up for all WRs and you can’t count on him being healthy enough to play, let alone make an impact. Put him on your bench, but keep him if you play in a dynasty league. We love this guy for next year.

Also Do Not Play: Carson Palmer (QB)

Dallas Cowboys Feature Image

Dallas Cowboys – Fantasy Forecast – Week 15

Cover32LogoGreen Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

DeMarco Murray

#6 Ranked RB

Gut feeling, the Cowboys will try to run as much as possible. That’s what they did last week even when they were getting blown out by the Bears. Green Bay gives up the 10th most fantasy points to opposing RBs and you know he’ll get the work. Even after missing two games, he’s the 8th highest scoring fantasy RB on the season. Start him.

Other Clear Starters: Jason Witten (TE)

Gut Calls

Tony Romo

#12 Ranked QB

His fantasy mediocrity frustrates his owners each week. This is a great match-up, but we’ve heard that before and it didn’t yield results.  Last week he threw for 104 yards and three TDs. It’s amazing that a QB can end a game with only 16 fantasy points after throwing three TDs. Unexplainable. He’s only thrown for over 300 yards three times this season. He’s certainly not terrible, but he’s also not a Must Start QB.

Dez Bryant

#5 Ranked WR

Okay, okay, okay. It’s borderline sacrilege to rank Dez outside of the top 10, but he scored under 10 fantasy points in four of his last five games. Last week he only caught two passes for 12 yards, but luckily he found the end zone. That still only gave him 7.20 fantasy points in standard scoring leagues. The Packers do give up the 9th most fantasy points to opposing WRs, but like Romo, we keep telling you they have a great match-up and they keep underperforming. Hopefully they break that trend, but it is scary.

Bench Warmers

Dallas Defense

#22 Ranked DEF

You may be tempted to play whatever defense goes up against the Rodger-less Packers, but do not do it.  Dallas is on track to be one of the worst defensive squads in the league history. You cannot depend on them. Ask all of the people who started the Oakland Defense against the Jets last week. Go with the better defense.

Carolina Panthers Featured Image

Carolina Panthers – Fantasy Forecast – Week 15

Cover32LogoNew York Jets at Carolina Panthers

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Cam Newtown

#4 Ranked QB

Cam plays well against mediocre defenses. He will fare better against the Jets, on his home turf, than he did last week against New Orleans. The New York Jets give up the 9th most fantasy points to opposing QBs and we think Newton will go to town.

Other Clear Starters: Carolina Defense, Greg Olsen (TE)

Gut Calls

Steve Smith

#27 Ranked WR

Yes, we know. We’re breaking our “don’t play a Panther WR” rule, but the New York Jets give up the 5th most fantasy points to opposing WRs and we want to think positive. You might need a quick fix, so Smith might be your guy. Someone will get a TD or two. Just hope you pick that special someone.

For Your Consideration: Ted Ginn Jr., Brandon LaFell

Bench Warmers

DeAngelo Williams

#38 Ranked RB

The New York Jets give up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs and he has a lingering quad injury. Williams looked alright last week, but he wasn’t exactly impressive with only 53 yards on 13 carries and no TDs.

Also Do Not Play: Mike Tolbert (RB)
