New York Giants – Fantasy Foreplay – Analysis Featured on Cover32.com

We know the faithful New York Giants fans want a comeback.  They wait patiently for that late season spark that seems to get their team into the Super Bowl.  But we have a feeling this is not that “bounce back” game everyone wants.  Sorry.  And that could translate into a tough day for fantasy owners as well.

This week, we made some gut calls on Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks and Eli Manning.

One of our gut calls:

Gut Calls

Hakeem Nicks

#30 Ranked WR

Last week Hakeem Nicks jumped back on the radar with 142 yards receiving. Unfortunately, Nicks has yet to catch a TD and the Giants seem to get worse each week. Chicago allows the 17th most points to WRs. If you think they will blanket Cruz, leaving Nicks open and if you think those passes won’t be intercepted, then play him. If you can’t trust the Giants, maybe you should try to trade him.  This might be the height of his value.

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants

This week, we made some gut calls on Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, Eli Manning, and all of the under achieving Running Backs.

Fantasy Foreplay: Giants v EaglesPhiladelphia Eagles (1-3) at New York Giants (0-4) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em LeSean McCoy #1 ranked RB LeSean McCoy had a rough game against the Broncos last week, but… so has every one else this year. He has the 3rd most fantasy points YTD of all the backs in the league, and that isn’t by coincidence.

NY Giants Need to Figure Out WR Situation

New York GiantsESPN’s Ed Werder reported today that Victor Cruz and the NY Giants are at a standstill.  No one’s budging.

Only a week and a half ago NY Giants’ team chairman, Steve Tisch,  told USA Today, “We’re talking.  I’m personally confident that Victor wants to be a Giant, will be a Giant.”  Even though Victor Cruz has the skill set to thrive outside, he’s absolutely fabulous in the slot.  And, unfortunately for him, the guys who play inside traditionally don’t make the big money like the outside guys.  Cruz believes his skills are worth top dollar, and from a fantasy perspective he’s right. You Predict: What’s going to be the best game of the year?

My early vote: Manning Bowl!

Week 2 will feature Eli Manning of the New York Giants hosting Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos.  As far as I can tell, this has “game of the year” written all over it.

This game is especially important to me.  I’m a die-hard Broncos fan living in the Big Apple.  I might cough up some dough to get to that game.  It’s just too special not to give it a shot.

Honestly, I was hoping that would be a Super Bowl match up, but at lest we get to see it, Lombardi or no.

Which game do you think will rock it?
