We partnered with RotoBaller to give you accurate and timely Week 14 waiver wire adds, running backs and more. In turn, they post our podcast to their site (which is centered around setting your weekly lineups). Enjoy! This article originally appeared on RotoBaller, our new partner. Well folks, many of your leagues are heading into the fantasy football playoffs. I (Bobby Koch) hope my column has been instrumental in getting you there, but we aren’t quite done yet. I’m going to continue listing, analyzing and breaking down waiver wire running backs who might be sleepers or viable stashes/starts for your fantasy football teams, that can help you win throughout your playoffs and get you to the promised land. Let’s get started. Special Treat: We’ve heard your requests for more position-specific live advice, so at the bottom of this post you’ll find our week 14 running backs waiver wire chat room, where you can discuss the players in this article and other possible running back waiver wire additions.    Fantasy Football Running Backs (RB) – Week 14 Dan Herron (RB,IND) – 28% owned on Fleaflicker Regular readers will remember that Herron was featured last week. Those of you who come to my weekly moderated chats with Zach will also know I was very high on Herron. So what did he do to reward me for talking him up? He rushed eight times for 88 yards and a TD. Granted this came against Washington whose defense isn’t exactly scaring anyone, but a win is a win. I like Herron to continue to be the dominant back for the Colts for the rest of the season, barring a surprise Ray Rice signing. Herron...

Week 13 – Detroit Lions Fantasy Forecast

Detroit Lions (7-4) vs Chicago Bears (5-6)    Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em Golden Tate– #26 Ranked WR Despite Stafford not putting up a great game, Tate was able to muster out every little bit of goodness he could out of him with 97 yards off 4 catches. The Bears’ secondary is nothing special so I wouldn’t be nervous about Golden Tate this week.   Calvin Johnson– #12 Ranked WR Johnson is not the kind of guy that you leave on your bench unless he has been listed as inactive, otherwise he will make a fool of you. It is just science. While he didn’t have the best game last week, with only 4 catches for 58 yards, he was targeted 10 times. His ankle is still sore and was limited in practice, so slowly but surely he will get back to Megatron form.     Gut Calls Notable: Detroit Lions Defense- #15 Ranked DEF Joique Bell– #21 Ranked RB At this point in the season you might have to play Bell but this is definitely not the best match up for him. He got the touches he needed last week with 19 attempts, but he was only able to rush for 48 yards. Pair that with the fact that the Bear’s rush attack is one of the better pieces of the pie for them, giving up the 7th fewest points to running backs over the past 6 weeks, and Bell’s outlook for Thursday doesn’t look great.     Bench Warmers Notable: Reggie Bush- #39 Ranked RB   Matthew Stafford– # Ranked QB We don’t have high expectations for...

Week 13 Waiver Wire Adds Running Backs Edition

We partnered with RotoBaller to give you accurate and timely Week 13 waiver wire adds, running backs and more. In turn, they post our podcast to their site (which is centered around setting your weekly lineups). Enjoy! This article originally appeared on RotoBaller, our new partner. I’m glad to see we are 13 weeks in and you guys are finally listening to me. What do I mean by that? Well, running backs that I have recommended in this article multiple times are finally seeing their ownership levels spike. Those examples include Tre Mason (58% owned on Fleaflicker), Terrance Crowell (50% owned on Fleaflicker), Terrance West (67% owned on Fleaflicker), and Alfred Blue (51% owned on Fleaflicker). To be honest with you, based on what these players have been doing those ownership totals are still pretty low. Mason and Crowell should be owned in all leagues, and the other two running backs are worth owning for those of you in deeper leagues. If they’re still available on your Week 13 waiver wires, go ahead and add them. Now let’s take a look at some running backs who have not quite crossed that 50% ownership threshold yet, guys who can be sleepers for PPR and standard leagues, and should be available on your Week 13 waiver wire. Special Treat: We’ve heard your requests for more position specific live advice, so at the bottom of this post you’ll find our week 13 running backs waiver wire chat room, where you can discuss the players in this article and other possible running back waiver wire additions.    Fantasy Football Running Backs (RB) – Week 13 Latavius Murray (RB, OAK) –...

Week 12 – Detroit Lions Fantasy Forecast

Detroit Lions (7-3) at New England Patriots (8-2)   Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate– #6 Ranked WR and #17 Ranked WR These guys had bad games (4 points and 5 points). There is no way around that but what do you expect when the final score is 14 to 6 with the Lions losing. It was not pretty folks. Still, even with this bad game against a very good team, you still need to keep your faith in both of these guys. The Patriots have a very tough secondary giving up the 3rd fewest points to receivers this year, but I think they will both bounce back a bit this week.     Gut Calls Joique Bell– #19 Ranked RB Bell was having a decent game until he hurt his ankle. He left the game and did not practice on Wednesday. The severity of Bell’s injury to his ankle is not clear at the moment so no one really knows who the running back will be for Detroit this week. Check reports to see if Theo Riddick or Reggie Bush gets the play if Bell can’t suit up.     Bench Warmers Matthew Stafford– #15 Ranked QB It hurts me to say but the time has come to officially bench Matthew Stafford. The guy just had a horrible, horrible game. He completed 18 for 30 passes…not great and only threw for 183 yards. Your starting quarterback needs to be throwing over 200 yards per game…period. He also was sacked 4 times last week which is especially bad if you are in a league...
