Houston Texans – Fantasy Forecast – Week 10

Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Case Keenum

#16 Ranked QB

You can’t deny that Keenum was oozing great energy last week and that his team was feeding off it. Granted they lost the game, but (a) you don’t care about that and (b) their head coach collapsed during half time and was carted off the field. That has to mess with their heads a little bit. Andre Johnson, for one, should be ecstatic about Keenum being the new guy in Houston. Keenum had the 3rd highest points out of all QBs last week with 28 fantasy points.  He threw 3TDS and 0 INTs. Mama likes those kind of numbers.

Andre Johnson

#6 Ranked WR

Welcome back, buddy. Nice to see you again. Johnson was on fire scoring the most points of any WRs last week. 40 fantasy points…I’ll take that. Johnson was targeted 13 times, catching 9 for 229 yards. Oh yeah, he had 3 TDs on top of that. The Cardinals give up the 6th fewest points to WRs so don’t expect 40 points again, but expect double digit performances now that he and Keenum have found some chemistry.

Gut Calls

DeAndre Hopkins

#41 Ranked WR

The Cardinals have a tough DEF and Hopkins was only targeted 4 times last week. Granted, he caught 3 of them for 54 yards, but don’t expect huge numbers this week. At the same time, don’t be afraid to use him if you are having some bye week woes.

Arian Foster

#32 Ranked RB

He was supposed to play last week and came in and left just about as quick as he stepped on the field. He is not fully healthy yet so really watch him to see if he plays. Don’t just look for an active status, do some research so you don’t get burned two weeks in a row.

Ben Tate

#24 Ranked RB

With Foster leaving the game immediately, Tate took the bulk of the running work load. Tate had 22 carries for 81 yards, racking in 8 fantasy points. Again, injury caution. Tate said that his ribs hurt pretty bad after the game and that he was having trouble breathing and laughing. Not a good sign. He did go on to say that he plans to play on Sunday, so proceed with caution.

Garrett Graham

#12 Ranked TE

He only scored 4 fantasy points last week, but that is not awful. He is going up against the worst DEF in the league in terms of allowing points to TEs, so if you are ever going to play him, this is the week.

Texans DEF

#9 Ranked DEF

Apparently the whole Texans team is a gut call this week, and that includes the DEF. They scored 6 points, which isn’t terrible, and they will go up against a team that has given up the 9th most points to DEFs.

Bench Warmers

We don’t have anyone glaringly on the bench this week.

Houston Texans – Fantasy Foreplay – Analysis Featured on Cover32.com

Cover32LogoHouston Texans at St Louis Rams

These two teams need to get it together.  The Texans do have some nice fantasy options, even if there is a QB drama.

This week, we made some gut calls on Arian Foster, Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub.

An example of the Texans analysis:

Arian Foster

#5 Ranked RB

Not a sexy week last week, but he still landed in the top 14 as far as RB scores in Week 5. Overall, Foster has the 8th most fantasy points out of RBs, which makes him a no-brainer. Play him. Be especially excited because he is going up against the Rams who have allowed the 3rd most points to RBs. Should be a good week for Mr. Foster.

Fantasy Foreplay: Texans vs. RamsHouston Texans (2-3) at St. Louis Rams (2-3) St. Louis Rams Play ‘Em If You Got ‘Em Sadly, no one has any idea as to what’s going on in St Louis. They are all over the map. When it comes to fantasy starters, you look for consistency and/or a super duper matchup.
